West Side Christian School is excited to announce Mr. Larry Killian as our new Jr. and Sr. High Choir director!
Larry grew up in Forrest City, Arkansas. He received a Bachelor of Music from Ouachita Baptist University and a Master of Divinity from Southwestern seminary. Mr. Killian has been doing ministry with youth and music for over forty years. He currently serves as Worship and Discipleship Pastor at Parkers Chapel FBC.
Mr. Larry Killian’s wife Shanna is a Special Ed teacher in Hampton. Together they have one adult son, Zach. He said they also feed a dog named Sadie who is friendly and needy--she just wants to be petted.
Mr. Killian said that he is looking forward to working with the choirs and giving them an opportunity to develop their skills while having fun singing.

Mrs. Huffty's and Mrs. Kaler's third graders "beat the heat" on the first day of school by enjoying a popsicle treat at the end of the day!

A ribbon cutting was held in the "Outback" before Open House where Mrs. Anna Hutchins cut the ribbon to open her very first classroom! Mrs. Hutchins teaches 1st grade this year and we wish her a fantastic first year at WSCS!



August Lunch Menu

West Side Christian School is excited to announce that Colby Agerton will be joining our Junior High and High School staff this fall.
Colby is from Strong and graduated from Strong High School. He then attended Louisiana Tech University where he obtained a degree in Speech Communication. Mr. Agerton has taught science at Strong High school the past two years. He is also currently serving as pastor at Temple Baptist Church.
Colby and his wife, Libby, have been married 15 years. Together they have 2 sons, Caleb (11) & Levi (10).
Mr. Agerton said that he is excited to join the West Side family and invest in the lives of his students.

West Side Baptist Church provided BBQ, sides and a wide variety of desserts for our school staff lunch today! We have been spoiled this week!

We are excited to welcome our new music teacher, Mrs. Machelle Jones, to West Side Christian School!
Mrs. Jones is originally from Camden but has lived most of her adult life in El Dorado. She was married to the late Jim Jones, who worked for El Ark Electric. Together, they have three adult children and five grandchildren. Her oldest granddaughter got married this summer!
Mrs. Jones attended Southern Arkansas University in Magnolia, where she earned her Bachelor’s degree in Music Education and Master’s degree in Elementary Education with a minor in Early Childhood.
She spent most of her teaching career at Parkers Chapel, where she taught kindergarten and music. She also spent three years teaching kindergarten at Norphlet Elementary School.
Mrs. Jones loves working with children and has a passion for music. She is looking forward to sharing that love of music with the students at West Side Christian School!

Mrs. Hearnsberger is from El Dorado and was married to the late David Hearnsberger. Together, they have one son, Donavon, and a granddaughter, Paislee. She is also a proud dog mom to four furry friends: MayBelle, Molly, Poppy, and Edward Von (Boppy)!
Evelyn is certified to teach Pre-K through 4th grade and brings 23 years of teaching experience from El Dorado and Camden. Throughout her career, she has taught Kindergarten, 1st, and 2nd grade.
Mrs. Hearnsberger loves her students and is excited for the opportunity to work with 4th graders. We are so thankful to have her join our school family and can’t wait to see the impact she will make!
