Please help us welcome our new Registrar and Substitute Coordinator, Brittany Simmons!
Brittany and her husband, Drew (WSBC’s current Youth Pastor), married in 2010 but have been together since they were 16 years old. They share their home with two dogs, Jarvis and Skye, and a ball python named Rosie. They do not have children yet, but have a heart for adoption and are prayerfully trusting God's timing for what He has planned for their family.
Before joining our team, Brittany gained valuable experience working in her family's restaurants and commercial properties, where she developed skills in HR, payroll, inventory, and staff management. She has also served in ministry alongside her husband for many years. Most recently, she served as Financial Secretary at Westside Baptist in Waynesville, Missouri, and briefly taught PE at WSCS after moving to El Dorado.
One fun fact about Brittany is that she genuinely loves organization! Give her a spreadsheet, a color-coded system, or something to alphabetize, and she’s a happy person.
Over the past few months, Brittany has enjoyed getting to know the ladies in the office, and she is looking forward to serving alongside them. She is excited to see what God has in store and can't wait to get to know the rest of the WSCS family!
West Side Christian School is excited to announce that Will Gunter will be joining our Junior High and High School staff this fall.
Will grew up in Huttig, Arkansas. He obtained a BA in History from Southern Arkansas University and is currently obtaining an MA in Language and Literature from Signum University. Most recently, Mr. Gunter taught for five years at Geneva Academy in Louisiana.
Will and his wife, Joanna, have five kids: Paul (6), Mary (4), Simeon (3), Ellie (1), and Beatrice (due in September).
Mr. Gunter said that he is excited to invest in the students at WSCS and watch them grow into the image of Christ with knowledge, character, and discipline.
We are excited to announce that Anna Hutchins will be teaching 1st Grade at West Side Christian School this fall.
Mrs. Hutchins is from Camden, Arkansas. She graduated from Southern Arkansas University where she obtained a Bachelors in Elementary Education.
Anna and her husband, Logan, have been married for three years, and have a precious 1 1/2-year-old daughter, Lilly Kathryn! They also have a golden doodle named Tilly- and yes, Tilly and Lilly are the best of friends!
Mrs. Hutchins said she is looking forward to building meaningful relationships with her students and helping them grow academically, spiritually, and emotionally. She is also excited about setting up her classroom and creating an atmosphere where every child feels loved, encouraged, and excited to learn!

Congratulations to the West Side Warriors who were nominated for the Sports Alley/El Dorado News Times Scholar Athlete and Player of the Year Awards! Micah Wake was one of five finalists for the Boys Basketball Player of the Year, and Carley Bain was one of five finalists for Girls Basketball Player of the Year and Scholar Athlete of the Year.
The school office closes at 3 pm today (Thursday.5/28) and will remain closed through June! Have a great summer!
